“as witnessed by the soil”  is an iteration of Nicky Chue's expansive project “plant portals”, preceded by their 2020 short film “plant portals: breath” . 

It's  a collection of stories, memories and dreams, a bridge between Nicky's various art practices as well as a companion to the film.
